Hi! My name is Dezirae, Dez for short and I am born and raised here in Sherwood Park. I grew up not knowing much about birth, I just thought you go to the hospital and get pain medication and push a baby out. It wasn't until I unexpectedly fell pregnant and had my first child in June 2022 where I had an unmedicated hospital birth with an OBGYN. After that I knew I needed to help others moms achieve the birth they wanted as during my birth I felt very alone and unsupported.
April of 2023 came around and I started my training with Doula School Canada. Shortly after I started I unexpectedly fell pregnant again and birthed my second baby in February of 2024. This time around I knew more about birth and decided to go with a midwife as well as hire a doula for my own. I once again achieved an unmedicated and this time pain free birth at a birth centre. This is the moment I KNEW I needed to help other moms.
